sorry for the pity party post last time...
Anyways! Today I walked through the back entrance of HSPH to get to my office. It's a longish winding hallway. Just as I reached the stairs that lead up to the nutrition department (where I work at my work) a voice from behind said enthusiastically "You have a nice walk!!" I turned around and saw a very eager smiling man who's accent and appearance led me to deduce he was from somewhere in the Caribbean. "I've been walking behind you and watching you a long time!!" he said also very enthusiastically. I didn't really know how to respond and kind of confusedly smiled back while my mind jumped between "well that's a new one" and "should this be offensive?" (full disclosure: I am wearing my "skinny" jeans today and yeah they are snug on the huns--and by huns I mean tushy).
While I stood there like a stunned deer the man went on to tell me that I had a nice walk because I kept to my side of the hallway and moved out of the way for self absorbed academics who will only acknowledge your presence if you send an IM to their blackberry. something like that. I said thank you a little too loudly (those stairs really echo) and we parted ways until next time.
SO, what we learned this morning:
a) I am really nice
b) foreign men are not obsessed with butts (not always)

good times :) i'm sure your walk is great- and i agree, you are nice- how considerate of you to walk so kindly!
I love that story! Once when I was living in Boston a lovely Carribean man whistled at me and said, "You're just the way I like 'em, you're big on top, but even bigger on bottom!". I probably should have been worried, but I felt strangely appreciated for my form. So you keep the walk going girl! Take care of my baby sisters for me this weekend, they need you!
